Krill Oil Recommended Dosage
Many organizations around the world recommend dosage of Omega-3 EPA & DHA in the range of 250 to 500 milligrams per day. Fatty fish like salmon is the best source of Omega-3s. If you ate two servings of salmon per week, you would get on average 250 mg of Omega-3 EPA & DHA per day. For people who do not eat any or enough fatty fish, krill oil is a great supplement choice for these essential Omega-3 nutrients that support heart, brain, joint, eye, skin and immune system health.
Unfortunately, most krill oil brands have recommend dosage of one small softgel (usually 350 - 500 mg of krill oil) which provides much less than the recommended 250 mg of Omega-3 EPA & DHA per day. A 350 mg softgel of krill oil will contain only 74 mg of EPA & DHA Omega-3s, while a single 500 mg krill oil softgel will contain 94 mg of Omega-3s.
When we were developing Kori Krill Oil we wanted to ensure that krill oil users could get the level of Omega-3s they need. We also realized that people have different preferences when it comes to softgel sizes - some people prefer the convenience of one pill a day and don't mind large pills, whereas other people have difficulty swallowing large pills and would prefer taking more smaller pills each day.
No matter which Kori Krill Oil you choose, the daily recommended dosage will provide you with the 250 mg of Omega-3 EPA & DHA that you need if you don't eat two servings of fatty fish per week. Pick the size that is most comfortable and convenient for you!
